Overview

The Department of Medical Laboratory Technology at Sahara University offers a 04-year degree in medical laboratory technology. The program is designed to prepare students for a career in the medical laboratory sciences. The program provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to perform medical laboratory tests and procedures.

The curriculum for the medical laboratory technology program includes coursework in chemistry, biology, and physics. Students also take courses in medical laboratory technology, including courses in clinical microbiology and clinical chemistry.

Career Opportunities

Our graduates work and intern in a range of jobs in a broad range of fields — public relations, marketing, advertising, social media, television, radio, magazines, human resources, event planning, education, nonprofits, and technology. We’ve also had graduates start their own businesses and others go on to graduate school in communication, law, public health, strategic communications, and education.

Medical laboratory technologists typically work in hospitals, clinics, or laboratories. They may also work in private practices or research facilities. Some technologists may work in sales or marketing for companies that manufacture medical laboratory equipment or supplies.
