Students completing this program will have the ability to:
1. Demonstrate an understanding of the basic principles of pharmaceutical chemistry and how they relate to the manufacture and development of pharmaceutical products.
2. Understand the mechanisms of drug action and develop an understanding of the importance of drug interactions and their effect on patient safety.
3. Evaluate and apply the principles of pharmacokinetics to optimize patient drug therapy.
4. Understand the basic principles of pharmacodynamics and apply them to the development of new therapeutic agents.
5. Understand the basic principles of pharmacotherapy and apply them to the treatment of disease states.
6. Understand the role of the pharmacist in the health care system and apply their knowledge to the provision of pharmaceutical care.
7. Understand the principles of pharmacy practice and apply them to the practice of pharmacy.
8. Understand the principles of pharmacy regulation and apply them to the regulation of pharmacy practice.
9. Understand the principles of pharmacy economics and apply them to the management of pharmacy practice.
